Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden

About the Sculpture Garden

Opened in 1974, the Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden is an outdoor gallery space in Washington, DC, used for the exhibition of modern and contemporary artwork. Beginning in 2023, the Sculpture Garden will be revitalized per the design of the artist Hiroshi Sugimoto to increase the amount and flexibility of display space. The project improves accessibility, replaces failed infrastructure, and reestablishes the Sculpture Garden, Hirshhorn Museum, and its Plaza as a single interconnected campus. To maintain a record of this historic landscape, the Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden 360° Interactive Tour provides an immersive digital walkthrough of the landscape accessible to a global audience.
