The National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC, opened in 1976, and later had a restaurant addition completed on its east side in 1988. The National Air and Space Museum is historically significant for its Modernist architecture that houses a museum program without precedent. Designed and constructed later, the restaurant addition was determined non-contributing to Air and Space’s historic significance. In March of 2023, the restaurant addition was demolished as the future site of the Bezos Learning Center. The National Air and Space Museum Restaurant Addition 360°Tour provides an immersive digital walkthrough experience of the addition interior and exterior.
